Bringing Independent Musicians Together

Eileen Bluestone Sherman began her career at HALLMARK’S COTERIE THEATRE. Since then, her many plays entertained audiences around the country, and her books delighted readers around the world. Her award winning novels for young adults include MONDAY IN ODESSA (National Jewish Book Award), INDEPENDENCE AVENUE (International Reading Association’s Teacher’s Choice Award), and THE VIOLIN PLAYERS (Thorpe Menn Honorable Mention Award). Perhaps, her most popular story is THE ODD POTATO, originally a picture book, that Eileen adapted for stage, television (Emmy Award) and CD. Several years ago, the author received the distinct honor of being listed on Kansas City’s Central Library’s “Community Bookshelf," nationally acclaimed free-standing public art at Tenth and Baltimore.

When writing new musicals, Eileen collaborates with her sister, Gail Bluestone, an award-winning composer and educator. Their music can be heard on radio, stages around the country, and is featured in the musical theatre web series, CHARMERS, at www.joshuashermanpresents. Their song, “ A Child’s Dream Will Light the Way, the Gospel Rendition” earned the sisters the Global Music Silver Medal Award (Best Gospel and Inspirational Song). The recording was selected to be part of UNESCO USA’s world peace album ACTION MOVES PEOPLE UNITED that includes other contributions by such musical artists as Dan Aykroyd, Julian Lennon, and Janis Ian. Their song, “One More Batch of Cookies” from their musical, PERFECT PICTURE also earned a Global Music Silver Medal Award (Best Lyrics and Songwriting) while their recording of “I Keep Christmas in My Pocket”(as heard on CHARMERS) earned the sisters a Global Music Bronze Medal Award (Best Holiday Music Song ). All three award winning songs were recorded by Tony and Emmy Award Winner Lillias White.

In 2003, Eileen formed her family’s Production Company, 6-10 PRODUCTIONS to produce a holiday event at New York’s SYMPHONY SPACE called BROADWAY SINGS THE ODD POTATO. In 2005, the CD followed. THE ODD POTATO: THE BROADWAY ALBUM features 20 TONY AWARD WINNERS, with narration by Judd Hirsch. 6-10 PRODUCTIONS released a second CD, PERFECT PICTURE (2013) a concept album inspired by the life of the legendary Norman Rockwell. The “Bluestone Sisters” are the featured songwriters for LINCOLN CENTER’s BROADWAY’S FUTURE SONGBOOK SERIES in October 2016, including a concert reading of PERFECT PICTURE, performed by an ensemble of Broadway favorites. Both CD’s are available to music lovers everywhere at CD Baby and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids Online Store.

Eileen is a proud member of the Indie Collaborative (co-founder), Dramatists Guild of America, The Authors Guild, Inc., ASCAP, The Society of Composers and Lyricists, and The Recording Academy where she serves as a Grammy Voter. To learn more about the Bluestone Sisters’ projects visit
